Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

I caught sight of a view......

On my drive to Haltwhistle this morning, I saw a patch of foxgloves near to a gate on Hadrian's Wall Trail. "That looks like a great place to take a photo for the walking festival calendar", I thought and resolved to return later in the day.

The morning was stuffed full (to overflowing) with our committee meeting. We had to check all the details of the walks for autumn and check and modify the grid of walk leaders and back ups who are on the teams to organise the walks. It takes time, patience and is like a tricky jigsaw puzzle!

Back home for lunch to find that Margret and Guy have an infestation of flying ants. I provided ant powder to join in the fight back.

I took Mum to see the optician because her new specs don't allow her to see middle distance clearly. They are varifocals and apparently the improved distance vision provided by the new lenses is making the middle distance vision worse. (I don't understand it either.)

We consoled ourselves with coffee in M & S where we met friends we had not seen for a long time. Then 2 supermarket shops and home for an M & S ready meal.

I drove along the Military Road after 7pm to find that my foxgloves were rosebay willowherb and the light was completely wrong for my planned image. Hope you like this one instead.
