Backblip

A good blether with Sue and the gang last night, then a wander round a local nature reserve.
I am always ridiculously thrilled to see nuthatches, as they are very rare around Edinburgh (although getting more common, they seem to be spreading north). They are fairly common 50 or 60 miles south, so it is quite embarrassing to be seen to get excited...
There were some very interestingly constructed hides/blinds; wattle and daub constructed in the style of Iron Age and Viking dwellings.

Then it was off to celebrate Sue's birthday with a splendid lunch. She has a huge and diverse circle of friends, so there were people there from all walks of life. Great getting to know new people and to catch up with old acquaintances.
Lunch turned to evening and night with much chatting and even a bit of badgery banjo!
