Marjorie's ramblings

What, no keys?!

Yesterday evening, Dick (0ur excellent gardener) and I were admiring all the beech nuts on the trees. He commented that there are no keys on our 2 ash trees and that he had seen very few on sycamore either.

There was a frost this morning.

I walked from home this afternoon in the late sun. I passed several ash trees before I found one with seeds. We are quite pleased at home because there is usually a forest of seedlings in the spring.

I picked more of our own rasps today - delicious.

This sycamore leaf was hanging on, on its own, but you can see two fat, sticky buds above, waiting for next year. I also like the tiny piece of lichen on the stalk.
