Penlee Lifeboat Station

This is the last lifeboat station that we’re going to Blip for our 'Cornish Lifeboat Stations & Lighthouses Project'.

……………It’s the building behind me with the red doors and blue roof. There were loads of signs down on the harbour saying that no under circumstances were dogs allowed in the harbour area.

So, after ignoring the signs I sat right in front of the red doors while Ann blipped me (& then decided it was the most boring blip ever) we walked up the hill and took a blip from here. Incidentally there was a ‘portaloo’ & a 'digger' on the slipway so what happens when the lifeboat is called out???????

Got home about 4pm and it’s turned positively stormy in St Ives. By 4.30pm we had the heating on, the lights on & Ann had got soaked through to her underwear trying to rescue her pots which were all blowing over in the rain & wind on the sun terrace. Grrrrr…………

Two more lighthouses to blip and then we’re finished this project. I have to say Ann’s not really enjoyed this project. She says lifeboat stations are very boring things to photograph!!! Lighthouses are OK.

I wonder if anyone knows where our last two lighthouses are? We’ll give you a clue…………. One is a ‘harbour lighthouse’ and I’m not sure that I’ll be able to get close to it because doggies might not be allowed on the harbour. And the other is situated on the ‘South West Coast Path’ in the middle of nowhere so I’m hoping to get a lovely long walk to that one. Watch this space Blippers!
