Wet Thursday

What else do you do on a wet Thursday but go to London, where it was also cold and wet. I love BA, they still do a hot breakfast and don't require a passport to travel IN the UK. The plane wasn't busy either but security, don't get me started on airport security.

Interesting day, quite a bit of chat about social media. Then home, via the amazing new King's Cross station. It IS amazing and what an improvement on the last time I was there. And guess what, the sun is shining.

Edit: Normally I sit in Coach B, quietly ignoring people around me who are reading, books and Kindles, or listening to i-pods. Last night, however, because of a bit of a stramash between the (very polite) guard and a neep who was on the train with the wrong ticket (despite her numerous pre-departure announcements) the four of us sitting round the table got chatting, and fascinating it was. One woman, who works for CAB is about to set off on a cross Scotland walk from Mallaig to Stonehaven, camping. The guy opposite her is also a keen outdoors person and there was much chat of tents, boots, light weight equipment and how to avoid the Scottish midge. The woman opposite me, a trustee of the U3A, chipped in with tales of walking the West Highland Way and motor home touring. Her colleague was on the 4 o'clock, going all the way to Aberdeen. After the first two got off at York and Darlington the two of us continued to chat about the Borders, singing, France , wind farms and marvelled at the weather and the incredible flooding we were passing in the north of England. She left me to my own devices at Berwick but it was a very pleasant way to spend 3 and a half hours. Isn't Britain an interesting country?
