Shuttlecocks

In bed late and then up early – it was a real struggle, but we made it to the bus on time.  BB and I were off to the Emirates Arena in Glasgow to the Scottish Open Grand Prix 2015 badminton competition, just as we had done on this same day last year.  Once there security was high, with bag searches and police patrols, which certainly made us think.

The kids had a coaching session in the morning and then we watched three finals in the afternoon - the men’s singles, the mixed doubles and the ladies singles.  Scotland’s Kirsty Gilmour lost out in the ladies final to her opponent who was from Denmark.  Such a shame as she had the full support of the crowd behind her.  No Judy Murray this year, but Prince Edward presented the medals.

It has been a long day. TT had had the day to himself, but had made us a scrummy tea.  BB was asleep as soon as he was in bed.

My photos were not great, but here is a collection of shuttlecocks.  I’m not sure what the collective noun would be.
