Festival of angels

It was very cold this morning but the roads were safe with care. I took Mum to Greenhead's Christmas Farmers' Market where there were extra craft stalls. It's always a happy place to go to. In the extras you can see one of the sellers demonstrating his craft.

We saw a lot of people we knew. Everyone assumed that Mum had fallen on the ice, because her arm is in plaster.

In the church, we saw the festival of angels. Different people and organisations had provided angels. Some were their own collection of ornaments and some were made by individuals or groups. I particularly liked this one, made by the local school in Haltwhistle. The wings are shapes of children's hands, using paper with musical scores. The body is made of old fashioned paper chains and the head is papier mache, also of musical  paper.

One of my friends was there with his childrend. The silver link, just above the solar plexus, is the one he made (he was certain).

The extra angel was made by Bardon Mill WI and the ladies have written messages on papers that go on the front of the dress.

We bought some lovely beef and I have cooked the steak mince tonight.
