Castle Ruins

BB had to be at football training at 9am today.  It was a lovely morning, which made it a bit easier to get up and out. He was delighted as it was on grass which meant he could wear his new football boots. It was in a different location from normal, but very near to where my friend S lives.  We hung around watching the boys for about 40 minutes, before retreating to her house until the boys were done.  I then brought BB home and hosed him down  put him in the bath, to get rid of the mud!

I had planned to go in to Edinburgh this afternoon, but BB was really not up for it.  Plans were abandoned, and with the risk of him sitting around watching TV all afternoon, I dragged him out for a walk near Gullane.  The sunshine had gone though and the dull greyness that we are getting really fed up of had descended.  He was quite happy with our wander, especially as we then headed to a local garden centre to get a couple of new bird feeders, and he got a hot chocolate in the café.

BB did some cello and reading tonight.  It’s not a good situation when your Saturday evening is taken up with homework.  I had however been trying to get him to do it since lunchtime.

Here is the ruined Saltcoats Castle.  It was so dark and grey when we were out that it is not a great image.   I am always amazed that the arch is still standing.  It was a much nicer day when I was last there.  The extra is the new football boots!
