An ordinary life....

Building Project Day Three and counting...

But thankfully not blipped.  Well there's a shot in extras but that doesn't really count.  (The shot in extras was taken from the same vantage point as my blip on 24th!)  Definitely no going back now!

David was working from home today so I didn't have to get up at 6am to be ready in time for the builders arriving at the back of 7.  This meant I had a leisurely lie in till 7.20.  They were on site and working by 7.30am and worked away solidly till 6.30.  They'll be back tomorrow at 8am and hopefully that will see the demolition complete.

No dead bodies found, just hoping no Roman coins turn up as don't fancy the site turning into an archaeological dig for the next two years!

Alan went to see the nurse at the local health centre to have the dressing on his finger changed.  It's healing well but he'll still be having it covered up for another two weeks at least.

I have been busy planning dinner for friends (Aileen, Jim, Ian & Cathy) coming tomorrow night.  It's over a year since we've seen them (the last time we got together at Ian and Cathy's and we had to come home early as 20 minutes after finishing dinner I was in their loo throwing up!  Very embarrassing but thankfully it was the start of a bug and nothing to do with Cathy's cooking ;-)

Given that my creaky hips won't let me slave over a cooker for long I have taken the easy route and decided to serve things I can prepare in advance and David can be my commis chef and be in charge of putting things into the oven and taking them out again.

I have gone with prawns or pate to start, chicken breasts stuffed with mozzarella, chorizo and sun-dried tomatoes and wrapped in parma ham with jersey royals and roasted mediterranean veg, and vanilla cheesecake with strawberries or sticky toffee pudding to finish.

My creaky hips are also stopping me from getting out and down to bluebell level in the garden so have had to settle for photographing them in captivity.  I had fun though and they smell divine.

Friday again.  Have a great weekend lovelies :) xx
