The Kelpies

BB’s football was cancelled today, so no early start to get him up, ready and out.  Instead we wandered down to the local farmers’ market and had a look around town.  Later, the weather brightened up and we then headed off to the see the  Kelpies  - our first ever visit.  We had a nice afternoon and the sculptures are really impressive and well worth a visit.  I wasn’t really aware of what was round and about and was really impressed with the whole regeneration project (less so by the traffic on the nearby M9 thundering by! Had we been there earlier in the day, we may have gone for a walk along one of the walking routes.  Instead we ended up at the adventure play park.

BB has wanted to see the kelpies for a while, and while he enjoyed our visit he said there were too many people, and I tend to agree with him.  It was a lovely day, so the visitors were out.  We’ll have to try and go back at a quieter time – if there is such a time.

Once home TT was watching his football team who were playing at Wembley.  BB and I couldn’t stand the noise and tension, so I took him out for a spin on his new birthday bike.  He was off like a shot – and I was finding it hard to keep up with him.  It was a lovely evening for a  cycle along the old railway track.  We cycled to here and back.

TT’s team won (whew!), so he treated us to a takeaway curry!

Here are the much blipped kelpies.  The extra gives a feel for their setting by the canal.  I have previously blipped a mini kelpie.
