Tiny Tuesday : Weather

Tough to come up with a weather theme in high summer. It's hot, and dry, and ever so slightly oppressive. Hayfever colours my perception of summer and I am far more at home in the changing seasons of spring and autumn.

However, if something defines the hot, dry days of summer in a cottage garden it's the bees on the poppies. This tiny fellow is one of thousands that are currently plundering the nectar hearts of our flower beds. We've planted a lot of poppies this year of varieties large and small, and the beds are glowing with reds, pinks and oranges. They all come out in turn and there's a gentle suggestion of purples in one of those still to flower. The bees don't find, they give them all the same care and attention.

Not wholly on theme, but there you go. Thanks to Walking Wombat for hosting this week's Tuesday challenge. The four seasons of weather are all over here...
