ABSTRACT THURSDAY - PAREIDOLIA

PAREIDOLIA -  is a psychological phenomenon in which the mind responds to a stimulus, usually an image or a sound, by perceiving a familiar pattern where none exists (e.g., in random data).

I decided this morning that to do this challenge without seeing any clouds in the sky, I had to be psychologically challenged indoors, so thought about ink splodges - I got out one of my fountain pens, dipped it into some black ink and splashed it about - on paper, on my hands, on the worktop and had great fun!  Mr. HCB came into the kitchen in the middle of all this, just shook his head and walked away - he knows better than to ask silly questions!

I then got some of my new Waitrose moisturising washing up liquid with cucumber and basil fragrance, no less - and spread that around a bit - and I must admit that it did smell better than the old Quink ink that I must have had for about twenty years!

Then out with the diamonds that have been sitting in a pot in a dark cupboard waiting for their moment of glory, and hey presto, what do you see?  Well, I must admit, I don’t see that much, but as I said, it was great fun and isn’t that what life is all about?

I feel as if I am drowning in paperwork at the moment, because our house and car insurance are both due for renewal, so I am looking for cheaper quotes and our energy provider is charging us more and more, so I need to look around for cheaper offers, or start using candles and a barbecue in the garden!  Mr. HCB said he’s sure I won’t drown because I do it so well - is that a back-handed compliment, I wonder?

It’s a cold, wet and miserable day, but Mr. HCB insists he has jobs to do in the greenhouse, so I will go into the bank later and sort out one or two other things - but I bet that won’t be as much fun as I had in my kitchen this morning!

“We don't stop playing because we grow old;
     we grow old because we stop playing.”
George Bernard Shaw

P.S.  I don’t know why I am so “bright-eyed and bushy-tailed” this morning - I spent all afternoon yesterday putting together a Powerpoint Presentation for when I next lead worship at Church - was working from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and then did all my Blip commenting, so didn’t get to bed until 1.30 a.m. and was awake again by 6.15.  Must be those two early nights I had this week because I don’t feel at all tired.  If I manage to put it on Youtube will put the link on here.

P.P.S.  Having looked now I've uploaded my Blip, it looks a bit like a little chick bowing its head!
