An ordinary life....

Snow Dog...

Woke this morning to reports of heavy snow to the west.  Looked out the window and it was snowing heavily here too damn how lovely.

John and Norma were supposed to be coming up for dinner and staying over but there was no way I was going to let him drive in that weather.   Like lots of 80 year olds he can be very determined and I prepared myself for some resistance to my suggestion we postpone, but to my relief he agreed.  I think the fact the snow was heavier at his end helped.  We have arranged to get together next week instead when hopefully the white slippery stuff will be gone.

So we found ourselves with an unexpected quiet afternoon with the snow piling down.  Lovely to look at when you don't have to be anywhere but hoping it won't disrupt our plans to visit friends tomorrow or curtail our Hogmanay celebrations.

This was Lola's first experience of real snow and she loved it.  She was so funny running and jumping about and then lying in it and eating it.  Her tummy must have been frozen.  Alan wanted to go out with her and build a snowman and he had a great time too (see extra).

I have completed my Tesco online order to cover Hogmanay and New Year's Day and David has a reminder on his phone to pick up the steak pies from the Butcher's tomorrow or Saturday.  If family and friends can't make it I will be dragging people in off the street to eat the mountains of food!

Now to decide what to wear tomorrow night.  Not the off white top, I'll spill gravy on my boobs.  Not the purple top, I've worn it twice this month already and there are pics on Facebook.  Not the black and silver glittery top, too "done up like a Christmas tree."  Not the floral top, too see through and I will be too warm with a cami underneath.  Not the red top, saving that for Hogmanay.  Not the navy and white blouse, gapes at the bust.

So, a black top then.  As usual.  *rolls eyes*

And my mistletoe headband.  Well got to take advantage of the season ;-))
