Lake District - day 3

The weather has not been kind to us on this trip - the forecast was for clouds with some rain and possibly some intermittent bright skies. However, what we got was dull skies all day and it started raining by lunch time.

After breakfast we headed over to Little Langdale to visit Slater's Bridge. There were quite a few walkers and visitors about which meant we had to be patient to get our photos free of people. This is a view of the bridge which is really so lovely with its stone archway. I was determined to get a photo of a herdy, they are such pretty sheep with cute faces - see extra. When the rain came in we took photos for  while longer before moving into the cave near the old slate quarry, Cathedral Cave. There was a choral group singing hymns inside the cave which made a rather unusual accompaniment to our photography!

After we left the cave we went to an excellent tea shop in Grasmere where we enjoyed teas and coffees before heading home. No one orders cake as they knew they were coming back to Deb's excellent sticky toffee pudding!

That was our last day and tomorrow morning I head home again. It has been a wonderful few days with some really lovely people -  you can click on the tag to see the other photos by everyone here. The other people here this week (all blippers) are DavidSheelaghWendyChrisKenDavidSteve, and Anne
