A touch of the da Vinci’s

My friend and I debated whether to go ahead with our visit to Leeds today but as we were both coughing we decided to go ahead as we weren’t going to make each other worse!

We went to Leeds Art Gallery to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition ‘A Life in Drawing.’ It is a small exhibition with, in the main, very small drawings with even smaller writing, which is often written in mirror image. Non the less it was very interesting. The detail of the human and animal (horse) anatomy is fantastic and just to realise the age and expertise shown from so long ago is quite astonishing.
The sculpture, by Henry Moore, outside the gallery is catching the bit of sun we saw today, it was cool in the wind and we had to remind ourselves it is still only February.
With plenty of time left we also took in coffee at Waterstones, of course and then went to the Victoria Quarter which my friend has never visited.

Finally a late lunch at the Art cafe before getting the train back within the ‘off peak’ limit.
A good day out, I’m glad we went but I’m tired now and still coughing!
