Marjorie's ramblings

The elusive Star of Bethlehem (Gagea Lutea)

After yesterday's abortive trip to try to find these flowers, Margret (next door) kindly went with me today. She found two plants in flower. They are tiny and very pretty. It was windy and sunny, so I was pleased to capture a couple of photographs of the flowers. (See extra for detail of the stigmas.)

We did a short circuit in the woods. It was warm enough to be without coats (and it's February!). It would be good weather for a Spring walking festival!!

The district nurse was here this morning to change the dressing on Mum's leg. It's still holding together so we are slightly more optimistic than previously.)

This afternoon we expected the community dietician at 1.30. It's now 3pm and noone has come. I've tried to contact the department but all I can get is an answerphone. Thankfully this is not a life or death appointment, but it's hard to get on with any productive work while you are waiting. That was appointment number 6 this week. We have survived and had some excellent help along the way.
