Eastern Chipmunk ....

As I was photographing other things for today's Abstract Thursday I saw this little chipmunk in my backyard.  To say I was excited about seeing him/her is an understatement.

But I'm not going to get too excited as this is only the third chippy sighting in our yard since the middle of March.  We would typically have seen a lot more chippies by now.  Sadly, for some unknown reason the chippy population this year is very low.

Thankfully ... what isn't low is the Gray Catbird population around here.  I've added an extra of one that was on our bark butter feeder that's right outside our front window.  I shot this through the glass.  We have several nesting pairs that visit our suet feeders on a daily basis.

Backblipped: May 25, 2019  .... slowly catching up.
