Marjorie's ramblings

Autumn at Allen Banks

The day started with grey skies and a cold wind. We emerged slowly and increased the temperature by a notch on the thermostat.

This afternoon I went to walk in Allen Banks. The sun was breaking through, but it could not reach the bottom of the gorge. All the paths are muddy and quite slippery because of the thousands of fallen leaves. It's a treat to be there.

I found this tree at Plankey Mill. It was catching a few rays of sun and the colours looked unreal.

Arth did well. We walked all the way to Plankey Mill on the west of the River Allen and all the way back on the east. I did not fall over once!

Now for an evening in the warm cosy house.
