How to do the ironing!

Take one reclining chair, one iPad, one comfortable cat and an ironing board......

Daisy wants to show you that she will now sit on my knee for more than five seconds. Who am I to ask her to leave in those circumstances?

The weather has continued to be miserable and I’ve been doing bits and pieces at home.

Tonight I went to see Never Look Away, a German language film which won an Oscar in 2018 for Best International Feature Film. I thought it was wonderful. Three hours is a long time to concentrate on subtitles, but I missed nothing.

It starts in 1937 and goes through the war and into the 60s. Set in Both East and West Germany, the film has a number of strands: family; racial purification through euthanasia; true love; the nature of art and of the artist. I was glad that the ending was happy.

This film was shown as part of Town Twinning. Sadly the audience was very thin. It was a foul night and I expect that some people were reluctant to travel.
