Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

One person is awake!

We set off at 0600 for a dawn shoot. The streets were wet, so we hoped that the rain had come earlier than the forecast.

We climbed a little way up Pretzin Hill to gain a viewpoint over the city. No sooner had we set up our tripods when the heavens opened. There was even thunder and lightening.

My umbrella was no match for the wind; it was inside out as much as it was up and no use at all. The storm passed over and we resumed our shoot.

The familiar buildings on the skyline appeared and one bright light shone from a bedroom window.

We did more long exposures on the riverbank, then had a short break before going out to reserve our places to shoot sunset. It sets behind the palace. The light looked poor, but it did improve as the blue hour started.

We were out to dinner and then off on a night shoot. This involved walking up to the palace. I found it hard going, trussed up in many layers of warm clothing and carrying a heavy bag and a tripod. it was interesting to shoot in the relative dark.

And so to bed. I hope to have restored my energy level by tomorrow!
