Colander

I had intended mowing the lawns today but it rained heavily through the night so that was one job I couldn't get on with.  Spent the day indoors  until it was time to head off to slimming club.  Gained one pound this week  That's what happens when you go out for Sunday lunch.  Hopefully I will have a better outcome next Thursday.

The Abstract Thursday theme is " kitchen abstract " so I have blipped my favourite little red plastic colander and my favourite enamel serving spoon.  Thanks to Ingeborg  for hosting.

The red colander is actually a holiday souvenir bought when I visited my blip friend justbe.  She has a similar colander and when I saw her using it I thought how handy it was when you just have a small amount of pasta or vegetables to drain.  So we looked around in various shops and managed to find one similar for me to buy.  Its something I use almost every day of the week and using it brings  back happy memories of my trips to Massachusetts.

Local Coronavirus update. ......in the last week there have been 1,000 new cases of Covid 19 among the students of Newcastle University and 600 at Northumbria Uni in the city.  Last week Northumbria had 770 new cases.  All students are quarantined and as far as possible are having their lectures online.  In Gateshead my local council reports that this month the average daily cases have risen to over 50 every day. So things are getting worse here not better.  I think next week Boris will announce that pubs and restaurants here will have to close again. Apparently one third of all the new cases occurred in people who had socialised in pubs or restaurants. Whatever measures are put in place I just hope they work.
