Life in Sunny Dubai

Christmas trees

It's taken me ages to pick one picture to blip from all the amazing things we've seen today. It's now nearly 1 am (on 23/12) and I need to get to bed. So, I can't help thinking that like doctor's clinics, Dubai has a disproportionate amount of giant Christmas trees. This one is outside the Habtoor Palace Hotel (which we stepped into for the first time today) located in Habtoor City. There is an open-air Winter Garden outside with wooden huts, picnic tables, stalls, food, drink etc. It was amazing hearing Christmas carols mixed in with other seasonal songs blaring as we walked around.

The hotel had a real WOW factor to it. A real five-star luxury property with a grand staircase and chandelier. We drove down MBR Boulevard again on the way home and then passed the Museum of the Future which was lit up today. Dubai is looking very full as it gets ready for Christmas.

And on the home front, the Christmas tree is finally finished. I put on the baubles today while G was out at her Chess club. :)) I need to get a decent picture of it for posterity! I can't remember the last time we had a tree up in this flat!
