Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

Well I never

I distinctly heard the weather forecaster saying that we should not expect snow today. After a frost overnight, the snow suddenly came down heavily. The garden was soon covered.

I had planned to drive west to meet Maureen for a walk, but we agreed that it was too slippery to drive safely.

After an hour or so, the snow eased off. I stood in the queue outside the village shop. There was good natured chat. The holdup was because people pick up their prescriptions at the shop and there was a large box to rummage through for each person.

The snow did not all melt away and it was very slippery on our paths in the afternoon.

Maureen and Brian's perishable present is back in the fridge........

We watched the village carol service on a DVD. It involved the local school children to tell the nativity story. Very well done to all concerned.

There was a bit of Carols from Kings, then the Brexit result, then we saw a Christmas production from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London. Our final programme tonight will be University Challenge.
