An ordinary life....

Proud as punch...

Backblipped 15.08.21

Lola had managed to get herself in a bit of a tangled mess so her daily groom yesterday consisted of getting the tugs out, which she is not keen on, so once he'd finished doing that, David let her off lightly and didn't give her the head to toe brush.  That was this morning's job!  :-))

She's never liked being brushed, even though as a puppy we spent a lot of time desensitising her to it.  She will tolerate it though as she gets lots of little treats to keep her happy while she's being brushed.  It doesn't seem to matter to her that the treats are tiny, to her a treat is a treat.

As you can see, she's always very pleased with herself once the grooming is finished and even though she could earn a fortune selling her golden fluff to Donald Trump's wig maker, we choose to put it in a container outside so birds and other small creatures can use it for their nests.

I should mention that the bundle of fluff there is a drop in the ocean to what comes off her (some days it looks as though there's another dog lying beside her!)  David had already taken the fluff outside before deciding her chesticles needed more brushing, and that's the little bundle that came out.

David was playing golf at Leven in the afternoon with Keith.  Alan headed off out with Jordan so once again Lola and I had the place to ourselves.  I decided to use my time to crochet these squares together (they've been waiting for ages to be made into something!) and after debating whether to place them into six rows of four or eight rows of three, I went with the latter as rather than a blanket, I want a throw to put across the bottom of the bed in the smaller guest room and the longer, narrower shape is more suited to that.

Managed to get two rows of edging done too before all the wanderers returned and it was time for dinner and two episodes of Outlander.

Hoping I will have the throw finished and on the bed in time for friends coming next weekend.  Watch this space!  ;-))
