Another fluffy, busy, buzzy bee...

I seem to have taken loads of bee photos over the past month and offer no apologies as I am really enjoying following them as the fly from bloom to bloom,  

I enjoy painting bees and so far the majority of those I've created have been on the abstract side, or almost cartoon like.  I would really like to attempt a more realistic looking bee so I hope my photos will serve as good reference photos to let me do that.  Time will tell.

A slightly greyer day today but still warm.  

Later this afternoon we headed to Braehead Shopping Centre in Glasgow.  I can't remember the last time I shopped there.  It's been years as the pain of my arthritis made it impossible to  cover the ground required to get from shop to shop.  With the help of me new wheels, today was a much more pleasant experience.

This is the first time I've used them to visit a shopping mall.  Turns out I like shopping after all!  Don't get me wrong, I still strongly extol the virtues of online shopping...the focussed purchases bought with zero effort, but oh how I had forgotten how much I love browsing!

David, ever patient, looked on with amusement as I whizzed about the place, grinning from ear to ear (not that. you could see that due to my mask :-) exclaiming joyfully at this item then that item...look at this...oh look at this...and this!  Oh isn't that lovely....and so on and so on.  I almost had sensory overload!

All was well till we came back to ground level in the lift and the doors got stuck.  They just wouldn't open!  There was the doors opening announcement and nothing happened.  We pressed the open doors button and again nothing happened!  Then there was the doors closing announcement whilst we continued to frantically press the open door button!  Eventually they opened.  Phew!  I had visions of making the local evening news - woman in maiden voyage wheelchair outing to shopping mall gets stuck in lift!!!  

The main purpose of the visit was to buy a leaving gift for Alan's support worker Ashleigh, whose last day with us (before she leaves to start nursing training) is Wednesday.  We are going to miss her so much.  After five and a bit years she's become like family to us.  We are really going to miss her, especially Alan.  Anyway, after looking in about five jeweller shop windows, I finally saw a lovely little Michael Kors bracelet that I think she will like.  I've got a gift receipt, just incase she wants to change it.

We finished off the afternoon with a trip to M&S food hall.  Again, I was like a kid in a sweet shop!  Thankfully I've done my supermarket shop for this week so I was very restrained.  Just bought dinner for tonight and lunch for tomorrow.

We had a lovely drive home in the evening sunshine and got back just after Alan who'd spent the day at Monikie Country Park.

Cant' believe we are almost at the end of August.  Where has this year gone?!  It has disappeared just as quickly as last year!
