Remembrance Sunday

Our two village churches combined together today for a service in our church after the Service of Remembrance at the village war memorial.

As usual the church had some lovely poppy displays inside some of which I’ve featured in the collage.
The young man reading out the list of names of those lost in the conflicts of WW1 and WW11 is my son. He is wearing his Afghanistan medals. He has done this for a few years now as we sadly don’t have anyone of the older generation who was part of these wars. We are very proud he does it.

After a nice chat with people from both congregations I passed the war memorial on my way home and took a shot of the newly laid wreaths from village organisations. The centre one is knitted and crocheted by the same group, from the village WI, who made the display outside the church.

Such an important Sunday. We must always remember and it is good that we come together to do so.
