In the Rain - McArthur Island

I tiptoed between
the raindrops just to get my
blip done for today!

I sat in my recliner drinking my coffee at 7 AM. It was pouring rain outside reminding me why I don't live in Vancouver. I waited until 8 to drive to McArthur Island with hopes the rain would let up.

My plan was to get all my photos without leaving my car. I parked along the curbing to watch the Canada geese and their goslings. I rolled down my windows and tried to ignore the rain. Older goslings more resemble their parents now. They have bigger wings and more feathers. One pair was escorting just one gosling. It was younger than most of the other goslings here. This little one stopped for a drink in a puddle, then looked over at me as if wondering what the big red thing was.

I moved ahead to park by the foot bridge. The rain had eased to just a few drops. I took my chance to get out to look for wild roses. They are tangled around the slough and the bridge area. Everything is soaking wet today. The slough is looking very full. The water level is coming into the bottoms of some of the trees.

I struggled to find a dry place to leave my quilted heart. I tucked it in a tree near the foot bridge.

I'm home until after lunch. I have an appointment downtown at 1, then I'm free for the day.

We are looking at a cool, wet day with a high of 18 C. There's a possibility of thundershowers this afternoon plus a risk of hail.
