The Last to Fly

We were up bright and early to take my parents to the airport for their flight back to the west coast.  As I am keying this, their plane has just landed.  Hard to believe that just a day ago we were all here together.  Needless to say, the house seems a little empty.  But I am so glad to have had the time with them this week - as we all get older these times together become even more precious.

When we got home from the airport, my last monarch had emerged and was drying her wings.  I have been keeping the container inside the last few days because it's been so cold especially at night and I needed to get these last two butterflies on their way.  Anyway, by mid-day, the temps outside were perfect for flying so I put her on a tree branch in a patch of sun - and before long she was gone.  I didn't release her for anyone in particular but told her she's flying for all of us who have lost someone.  She is a big, healthy butterfly and I think her odds of making it to Mexico are quite good.

Jax spent some time when we got home looking for my parents then he settled down to nap.  Hubs and I have just been doing little projects around the garage and garden - busy work.  We all took a walk on the Lane and now all of us are relaxing in the living room where it is entirely possible a nap will break out
