A view from Jeanneb

Bright as a berry

It was a bright but very blustery start this morning.

I decided to get some washing on and out and to return to some leaf raking. Most of the large magnolia trees leaves are down but surprisingly the ones that are left are largely green. The smaller ‘Susan’ magnolia is still in full leaf.
Moved up to the top lawn and bagged up the leaves from the Rowan. A few from the Oak tree but most of those are still to fall. A frost will no doubt put and end to them but we haven’t had one yet. It’s still relatively warm.

These Pyracantha berries against the back wall are still doing well though there were quite a number amongst the the leaf litter. The central clump is out of focus as I wanted to feature the mass of berries on the holly behind. (I did take a shot with the focus the other way around and I’m not sure which was best )

We had the first of our homemade soups for lunch. Tomato. It was very tasty and it now seems the right time of year for it.

Getting gloomier as the afternoon wears on but I’ve left some jeans out on the line in the hope the wind will do it’s job. Just need to keep an eye open for the forecast rain.
