Marjorie's ramblings

By walkingMarj

Our last day

We assembled at 0610 to start our trip to Dunstanburgh Castle. It snowed en route and Bill had to decide if it was safe to proceed.

It was a good call. The sea was frothing and there was snow and ice on the beach. The snow stopped and conditions were good.

We called at a café in Beadnell for breakfast, then on to Budle Bay. The access was down a very steep, slippery path. It rained. Cold, miserable rain! Eventually we gave up (and the sun came out)!

We repaired to Seahouses for lunch and it rained and rained.

There was more or less unanimous agreement to stay in the van until the rain stopped. We were very wet and cold.

Later, we had a good, dry hour at Beadnell Bay. The light from sunset was magical.

My extras are taken there.

I’m in bed early and will plan my journey home when I know how the weather is behaving!
