Day at a Time

Fifth Birthday

Today is my grandson's birthday. I've started a habit of blipping a photo, suitably re-imagined and re-photographed to comply with blip requirements, of his dad at a similar age. Past efforts are here: 16th April  2020 , 20212022 and 2023.  The images are never terribly good quality because the photographs are old. I remember the day this one was originally made. My son's first introduction to computers at Stirling University. It was just after his 5th birthday in June. A friend ran a session for children in a computer lab and my son attended. That summer we borrowed a BBC B computer from Cameraman"s work and he started learning to use it. He still works in IT!

Back to the present. We won't see our grandson today because he is in Poland visiting his other grandparents. So lovely for them to have him for his milestone birthday. Later this week he will be going with his mum and dad to Denmark for a trip to Legoland. What a treat. I'll see him next week and at his family party in Glasgow later in the month. He is the most delightful, quirky, funny and entertaining lad. He has a prodigious thirst for knowledge. Of course he's already tech savvy in a way his five year old dad would wonder at.

Really enjoying having our friends F&S here. We've known them for many decades. So much shared history. We are having a day out today so yet again please excuse my blip absence.
