Opening ceremony for the Wobbly Bridge

There was a bridge over the River Allen at this point until the floods swept it away a few months ago. Today was the official opening of the new Wobbly Bridge. It is a proper suspension bridge and troops would definitely need to break step to cross.

The National Trust invited people and organisations who had contributed to the rebuilding to attend the "do" and here you see the first group crossing the bridge. The streamers you can see all have messages on from supporters and from the children of the local first school. (There was some wonderful phonetic spelling to enjoy.)

Afterwards, I spent a couple of hours happily photographing in the woods, then visits to 2 supermarkets, delivered a computer monitor to Lesley because hers has died and returned home.

PS I'm afraid that Tiny, our rescue hedgehog, died during the night. The first 48 hours in captivity are a time of stress for a wild animal so this was not suprising. Just sad - and my bathroom is no longer smelly!!
