Make A Wish

Day two of Miss L's birthday celebrations today.
They had their normal Saturday morning - swimming, then Harris + Hoole with Miss A and Miss J.
Then we just pottered for the rest of the day until it was time to set off for her party.
She shares her birthday with Mr H in her class (the best boy ever!!!) which they're always giddy about - makes it very special for them at school! Ages ago Mrs N and I decided to have a shared party for them at the laser quest play centre they all love. It meant we could invite everybody which was brilliant.
Twenty four six and seven year olds; an hour playing on the soft play; party food; then an hour of running around in the dark shooting each other with loud music and flashing lights. They LOVED it!!!
There were a few older sisters there for Miss E to play with so she had a good time too and lots of Mummies and Daddies for me and Mr K to talk to while we stuffed our faces with party food!
I'm not a Mummy who bakes cakes so at about 4pm - half an hour before we needed to leave for the party - I headed to Tescos to pick up the usual gluten free chocolate cake we get. You can see it here, herehere and here (because I really don't need any excuse to look at these beautiful birthday photos!!)
To my horror they didn't have one in stock. I even got someone to go and look in the stockroom for me.
So poor Miss L - with the most useless, disorganised Mummy in the world - ended up with a Victoria sponge as her birthday cake. Sigh!!
But she didn't mind. It's cake and it had candles on it to blow out!!
And it was surprisingly tasty!
When we got home the Little Misses were exhausted. Miss L had a huge haul of presents but as it was late and they were dead on their feet, we only let her open a few before packing them off upstairs to their beds. And another sleepover as they fell both asleep in the car last night so didn't get their usual Friday night sleepover. Well they did sleep in the same room because Mr K set up the beds before we went out but they didn't really get to enjoy it!!!
Mr K and I collapsed on the sofa to watch a bit of singing before dragging ourselves up to bed. It's exhausting all this celebrating!
