Seed Head

I opened the curtains gingerly, saw that the haar was still here, and shut them again.  How depressing – especially as I had the day off.  BB was fretting about his homework and the fact that he had been too busy celebrating his birthday to do his homework.  I gave him a hand, with the promise I would help him again after school.  He was worried he was going to get into trouble for not handing it in today – I was sure it was due in at the end of the week – and in fact it is.

I hung my washing out in the gloom.  It was much warmer gloom than the past couple of days, so I had hopes of it drying.  Once BB was off to school, I thought I would make use of the gloom and go for a run – about half way round my route, there was a hint of sunshine and by the time I got home it was glorious and I was desperate for some shade.  What a transformation.  I did more washing.

I then went for a wander by the river and home via the supermarket.  I had a late lunch in the garden and decided I would just stay there and read my book – what a contrast to yesterday,  I had to keep re-applying sun tan lotion.  My friend R was golfing nearby this morning, so she popped round on her way home – and we enjoyed a blether in the sunshine.

BB was pleased to be able to come straight home from school –but hid in the coolness of the house.  Once R had departed, I helped him with his homework then cooked tea.  I spent evening doing PTA work.

I took lots of pictures of flowers today – in the garden first thing and on my river walk.  I rather like this pulsatilla  seed head which I photographed in the garden early this morning.  The hawthorn is in full bloom and I liked this tree (extra), which I spotted on my river walk.
