It's That Time Again!

Miss L's annual hospital appointment always falls in the holidays but was earlier this year so she had an afternoon off school.
She was pleased that she didn't miss her school fete which was this morning. When I picked her up she had a lovely painted face (See extras) and had clearly had a fabulous time.
I picked her up at 1.15pm and we headed over to Oxford, popping into my mum and dad's on the way for a cup of tea. Miss L was very quiet and clearly anxious about the appointment. She's never been bothered before so it was horrible to see.
She perked up a bit once we were actually on our way to the hospital. She was chatting about the window we always take the photo in, the cafe, the bear footprints on the floor of the long corridor, the rocking horse in the waiting room and the outside play area. She started quite looking forward to it!!
We parked easily and headed in.
She was weighed and measured as usual and had the "magic cream" put on her arms.
We saw Dr U and had the usual very brief chat. We gave consent for Miss L's bloods to be used in a research study into Coeliac Disease. Miss L was quite excited that her blood would be used to cure everyone with Coeliacs. I had to explain medical research to her!!
Then it was time for them to actually take the blood. It seemed to take an awfully long time and I think they were having quite a bit of trouble getting it out. Miss L was a star - focusing on finding Wally.
And - because it took so long - the wizard, Wally's evil twin, the dog, and Wenda!!
I was so proud of her. She takes it all in her stride.
From the hospital we went into Oxford to meet Mr K from work and go and get some dinner.
We went to a lovely pizza place in Gloucester Green. Run by Italians it had really unusual - and apparently authentic - toppings. So tasty.
I had to laugh when Miss L begged Mr K if she could go home on the bus with him. As a treat!! Poor Mr K had been looking forward to a lift home!!!!
So I got a cup of tea and left them at the bus stop and headed home.
Miss E was at home with my mum and dad. There was a tea at her school today which Nana and Papa kindly took her too. Lovely cakes and sandwiches apparently!!
Then - because it was obviously the night for it - Miss E and Papa had pizza delivered.
Mr K and Miss L were surprisingly quick on the bus and got back that not long after me.

Another day, another window photo!!
