Marjorie's ramblings

An auspicious day

31st January is an important day in this household because 2 years ago we adopted Daisy (on the left) and Oscar (on the right). We brought them here from their foster home. They were terrified. Oscar did not move out of his basket for 24 hours. Daisy appeared sooner, but they both spent the next few weeks hiding from us.

Oscar on Day 2

Many of you have followed their progress over the last 2 years. It was 18 months in before Oscar allowed me to touch him, even in passing. Now he comes for strokes and loves it. Daisy has been more affectionate from early on, but is just beginning to cuddle up on my knee for more than 30 seconds.

I had hoped to have a double portrait of them today, but it was not to be. The nearest is the extra, taken on just an 85 mm lens from too far away. They were enjoying each other's company in the garden.

I'm extremely sad about Brexit. Not much more to say at this stage.

Sandra came from Durham today. That was lovely. We had a good natter and catch up.

Tonight I found our second leaking radiator of the year. Not happy, but it explains why the pressure in the system is falling.

Onwards and upwards!
