Puffins!

Back Blipped late on 26th April.

So, from one major family event to another. After Noel's funeral on Friday and the family get together on Saturday, we drove up on Sunday to North Wales to "be around" while mum had her second cataract operation.

On the way up, we passed four thousand motorcycles going south (luckily!). The police had shut the motorway to other traffic, and for miles and miles and indeed miles it was nothing but bikes. I've ridden in some decent sized rallies and protests but that was something to see.

No point in wasting the day while she's transported off to Widnes and back, so we nipped off to Anglesey and the RSPB reserve at South Stack. You might recall the Guillemot pictures when last we were here, and indeed there were hundreds here again. We were however both delighted and transfixed to find a pair of puffins in amongst the more monochrome cliffside residents... the shot is currently a bit soft (updated), but hey, puffins!

The eye operation was a success. However, this surgeon took longer and left mum with a very tender eye, which gradually settled overnight. I'm glad, if one eye had to be a problem, that it was the second eye. If it had been the first I think she might not have done the other one at all.

More back blipping to follow. I appear to have taken over a thousand images between Sunday morning and Wednesday night!
