Here we go again. – Day 3

Victoria Park

Today's big walk was to Victoria Park. The plan was to walk there and then jump on a bus and come home but do you know what happened when we got to the park?...................... Ann said, 'Trixie, we haven't got anything else to do for the rest of our life today so we might as well walk home.' So that is what we did. And the good thing about today's walk was; a lot of it was on the cycle paths and there were hardly any cyclists on the cycle paths so I was allowed off my lead for a long time.

But.......................... there's always a but isn't there? On the return route we walked along the Ferry Road Path all the way down to the Roseburn Path, but guess what happened half way along the Ferry Road path?................................ At regular intervals there were bits of bread and chopped up carrots lying in the undergrowth and I hadn't bothered to eat my breakfast so I was hungry. I had to keep stopping to eat things. That made Ann cross and after she'd told me three times not to do it, I got put back on my lead. Boohoo. Unfortunately there's some pretty horrible people in Edinburgh. Ann recently read a report of someone leaving tennis balls laced with rat poison in the Hermitage so she always gets a bit paranoid when I try to eat stuff I find lying about. And to be honest we don't know why anyone would want to throw bread & carrots into the undergrowth anyway. (It had obviously only been there for a short while because it wasn't wet or mouldy). Was it there for the squirrels? Or the birds? Or the rats? Who knows?

Anyway today's walk was 10.26 miles so we just spent the afternoon slobbing around in front of the TV, but to be honest, if we'd got the bus home, we would still have spent the afternoon slobbing around in front of the TV so walking an extra 5 miles was probably beneficial to both of us?!!
….................And now we've only got W, X, Y & Z left to do in our 'A-Z of Edinburgh Parks project'. We know where we're going for W but X, Y & Z have us stumped?! ...........It's a bit of a 'cheat' but Ann did wonder about sitting me in front of the gates of the zoo for 'Z', but as for X & Y?.............................. Anybody got any suggestions???

PS - Mini Rant!!!
Today Ann got a letter from her 'Travel Insurance Co' saying that her annual payment was due soon and the money would be taken on such & such a date. Grrrrrrrr........... why do they always do that?  Just assume that they can take money off the card that one originally paid with and then put the onus on the customer to actually cancel it, when all they'd signed up to in the first place was one year?  Fortunately Ann is quite organised with stuff like that, but it's just unnecessary hassle having to phone to cancel, listen to a load of automated rubbish about how 'your call is important to us and we are experiencing a high level of calls at the moment'  Grrrrrrr.................... if the travel ins co was proactive, they would have sent out a letter saying; 'Due to COVID we understand that no-one is booking travel at the moment so we will not be automatically renewing your travel ins.'  OK RANT over!!!l
