MONOMONDAY: Architecture

This is a super wide angled glimpse of Blackheath's wonderful Presbyterian Church. Completed in 1925, the building is interesting because, despite its late date, the design still shows elements of Gothic Revival architecture through such features as the leadlight windows, ornamental pinnacles and false buttresses.

In monochrome it does look a bit forbidding and so I couldn't resist "going the whole hog". I have tried to add something of a nightmare quality to the image by boosting the contrast and adding a little glow. Despite the fact that it was actually a nice clear morning, the sunrise was behind the church and I was able to add a hint of some gloomy clouds.
